Well, I obviously didn't keep my word when I said I was going to be back to blogging regularly. However, the good news is that this is one of my 2018 Goals! I'd love to get blogging again and am in the process of rebuilding my brand to what I have evolved into over the last few months. Lots of life changes will do that to you in such a short time! A lot of my goals have to do with bettering myself and helping myself to grow even more into the person I want to become. So let's dive on in!
1. Produce MUCH MORE content and......a new brand?!
Like I'm talking at the very least once a week and I'm probably going to do my best to get a post up twice a week. I do want to make sure I only put out quality content which is why It's been so long since I posted. I haven't felt like I had my whole heart is in and didn't want to put mediocre content. I am someone who never does anything halfway (just ask my husband!) If I'm doing anything you know it'll be 110% and I'll be putting everything I have into it!
Therefore, I will be spending a lot of time writing in the next couple weeks before the big relaunch of the blog. I want to build a lot of content so I'm not scrounging up random things to write about last minute and just throwing a post together. In this time, I will also be creating a new brand look and even a new name! I have become a different person in the last couple months, in every sense of the word. I have a new job, home, husband, name, and goals I want to achieve. This will be the third name I've tried out and I'd really like this one to be "it". For that reason, I'm not going to change it until I'm absolutely sure this is the name I want. I'm hoping to have the perfect one by the beginning of February. Any tips for choosing one is greatly welcomed!
2. Get more engagement!
I can see how many people read my posts, but I usually only get one or two comments. I'd love to increase engagement both here and on Instagram. For the next month or so, I'm going to be focusing on Instagram and building a larger following on that platform. Then, once I've gotten quite a few posts done on here, and hopefully the new name, I'll begin with regularly scheduled posts here! So please be patient while I'm in this transition phase, but know I'm working on it for YOU! So, while I have your attention, what are some things that your other favorite bloggers write about? They are likely the same ones that I love to read! If you wouldn't mind taking the little survey below just so I can see how similar our tastes are!
3. Branch out in several areas.
I mean this one more for my personal life. In the last year or so, I've become very interested in fashion and want to be able to showcase that interest in blog posts, Instagram posts and in daily life. I've already started with my makeup and lately have been experimenting more with color! I'd love to branch out in this area and not be as nervous or concerned about what people think and if I wanna wear that crazy lipstick color, I'm going to!
I also want to get more outgoing in the blogging community. I want to go to meet-ups and collab with other creatives. I can't grow if I'm not around people who want to grow as well. I can better myself if I'm not around others who want to better themselves too. So if you know of any good creatives meet-ups in the Chicagoland area, I'm all ears!
Lastly, I'm going to branch out and be myself. Kind of an interesting view of it, but I want to break out of this idea that I have that I need to be Instagram-worthy in every post. I have barely posted any pictures of myself on Instagram because I haven't done my hair or I'm too tired to put my contacts in. Well, I'm going to stop that! I DON'T always have my hair done, and 99% of the time it's in a messy bun because it does not cooperate. I DON'T always look Instagram-worthy, but why should that stop me from posting? And I DON'T always feel like putting my contacts in and looking "presentable", but now I have super cute ones so why not take pictures in them?
So, these are some things to look forward to from me in the new year. Let's make 2018 the best year yet, as we should with every year, and work on ourselves! If you have any goals for 2018, please leave them below to we can work on them together!
